As I am not a story writer this will be the last installment for awhile. So let's continue where we left off shall we!
Sam turned and left saying " the next time those dogs start barking I'll be the one with the gun." As I stand there watching him leave a cold chill runs down my spine. Will! Sam make it here in time the next time the dogs bark? I turn toward the door leaving the misty scene outside and returned to the little fire. I don't understand why the shadow man keeps turning up! The box was empty when it came into my possession! What could have been in there? I came across the old wooden box some time ago in a broken down shed in the middle of no where. Whatever had occupied the box was gone by the time I found it. Yet at every turn he finds me demanding I return that old box. Each time he returns I feel more and more dread and a feeling of something evil. I don't think the gun will stop him the next time....
Think this could develop into a really neat short story. Don't scrap it - just put it on a back burner for a while. Read some mysteries and study how they are written. I'm still studying and learning... :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the encouragement it seems that Mike agrees with you.
DeleteSo, I will take your advice and put it on a back burner. Maybe I can turn it into a short story after all.
